Nokia 808 Pureview

Nokia launched its flagship camera phone — Nokia 808 PureView last week. The phone features a 41-megapixel sensor,which delivers DSLR-quality images at eight megapixels. The camera which can geo-tag pictures comes with Nokia Maps which can mark where the picture was taken on the map. The phone also has HDMI,DLNA wireless,NFC and WiFi. Dolby’s technology helps the phone provide excellent stereo output with any pair of headphones. It has 16GB of built-in memory,expandable to 48GB.

Plantronics BackBeat Go

Plantronics launched Backbeat Go wireless headset for any bluetooth-enabled device. BackBeat Go weighs 13 grams and the company claims a battery life of up to 4.5 hours. It also has noise reduction and built-in echo cancellation features. A short tangle-free cable links the two earpieces. This cable also has the volume control buttons and microphone. Joggers might want to consider this headset for music and phone calls. The headset has digital noise reduction and the company claims it can also cancel the annoying echo usually heard while talking on the phone.

Slingbox Pro-HD

Slingbox essentially turns your tablet,laptop or mobile phone into a TV using what the company calls “placeshifting” technology. Users connect their set top boxes or televisions to Slingbox,which transfers TV content to your portable device via cloud or a local area network. One Slingbox can connect only to one device and the video quality depends on the speed of your network. The company recommends 600 kbps for standard definition video and 1.5 Mbps for high-definition. Acer Timeline Ultra M3

Acer has added two new ultrabooks to its Aspire series — Timeline Ultra M3-581T and M3-581TG. These slim ultrabooks feature a 15.6-inch screen and weigh just 2.3 kgs. These models feature Intel’s older Sandy Bridge processors,2GB RAM,500GB hard disk and audio enhancements by Dolby. Those looking for good gaming performance may consider the M3-581TG,which comes with Nvidia’s GeForce GT640M graphics card. Its variant,the M3-581T,has the basic Intel HD3000 graphics. Acer claims its PowerSmart battery provides 8 hours of backup and can last up to 1,000 charge cycles.
