Galileos missing fingers,tooth found

London: Galileo Galileis two missing fingers and a tooth removed from his corpse in a Florentine basilica in the 18th century have finally been found. Paolo Galluzzi,Director of the Museum of the History of Science,said the parts were removed by admirers in 1737 when his corpse was being moved from a storage place to a monumental tomb,opposite the tomb of Michelangelo,in Santa Croce Basilica in Florence. One of the fingers was recovered soon after,and is now part of the museums collection. But the tooth and fingers from the scientists right hand,were kept by an admirer.

US to open Harry Potter theme park

London: Harry Potter fans now have a chance to experience the world of wizardry first-hand as a new theme park based on the movie series is going to open in US. The amusement park,touted as the real life version of the magical world of Hogwarts,will be opened in next spring at the Universals Islands of Adventure in Orlando,Florida. The new attraction,named the Wizarding World of Harry Potter,will feature an array of rides,with a centrepiece which includes a lavish recreation of Hogwarts Castle,which houses the school of wizardry,reported Daily Mail.

Cambridge writes letters to people of 2109

London: In a unique project,800 letters from writers in India and 31 other countries addressed to the people of 2109 have been sealed and stored in Cambridge University library as part of its 800th anniversary celebrations. Staff and students,people from the wider Cambridge community and senior academics from around the world took part in Letters To The Future project on Friday. Their messages,touching on subjects ranging from climate change and global recession to the progress of a current TV series,were sealed and stored in the presence of Queen Elizabeth II.

Sikh may be first non-White member of far Right party

London: A Sikh of Indian descent,who has supported some of the controversial ideologies of a far Right British political party,has sparked speculation that he may become the first non-White member of the group. The British National Party has accepted only White members since its foundation in 1982. Its leader,Nick Griffin,has a conviction for inciting racial hatred.Seventy-eight-year-old Rajinder Singh said that he was a long-term supporter and was prepared to overlook the issue of racism.

Iran to hold aerial defence games to protect n-sites

Tehran: Iranian air defence forces will conduct five days of manoeuvres involving simulated attacks on the countrys nuclear sites,a senior air defence commander said on Saturday. From tomorrow Sunday we will start a big aerial defence manoeuvre that will last for five days8230; covering an area of some 600,000 sq kms in north,southwestern Iran and parts of south and central Iran, Brig Gen Ahmad Mighani,the Army Air Defence Chief was quoted by the Fars news agency as saying.

Interpol red alert for Mujib killers

Dhaka: The Interpol has issued red alert to nab the fugitives linked to the assassination of Bangladeshs founding leader Sheikh Mujib who are believed to be living abroad,a news report said on Saturday. Home Minister Sahara Khatun has said the government has started the process to bring back the absconding killers. The countrys Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the death sentence on five of his killers.

14 JMB militants held in Bangladesh

Dhaka: Bangladeshi security forces on Saturday arrested 14 suspected members of the banned Islamist group JMB from western Jhinaidah district,officials said. Acting on a tip off,we arrested them from a rented house from Kanchanpur area where they were residing for the past two-and-half years, said Rezaul Karim,the district Superintendent of Police. He said that they were were holding a clandestine meeting at the time of the raid.
