Pak fires on Indian positions in Poonch
POONCH: In the ninth case of ceasefire violation this year,Pakistani troops Saturday morning fired at Indian posts along the LoC in Jammus Poonch district but there was no loss of life or damage to property. Army said Indian troops had not fired back.

Man held for stealing Rs 1.25-cr diamonds
MUMBAI: A 30-year-old daily wage worker of a firm dealing in diamond trading was arrested from suburban Malad here for allegedly stealing diamonds worth Rs 1.25 crore 10 days ago. Diamonds worth Rs 1.16 crore have reportedly been recovered.
Malayalam director Padmakumar dies
KOCHI: Noted Malayalam film Director C P Padmakumar died at a private hospital here after a brief illness. His directorial effort Sammohanam had received the Best Film Award at the Edinburgh International Film festival in 1995.
Additional DM kills self in Lucknow
LUCKNOW: A Provincial Civil Services officer posted as Additional District Magistrate in Lucknow reportedly committed suicide by consuming poison at his residence Saturday. Vinod Kumar Rai is said to have had some family issues.
