At a recent meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee JPC on 2G spectrum allocation scam,BJPs Gopinath Munde raised the issue of providing documents in Hindi well in advance so that he could be prepared to examine the witnesses. Sir,if we dont get the matter in Hindi,we will not come to the JPC, said Munde. At this point,BSPs Dara Singh Chauhan joined in,expressing concern about this issue. Truth is that if work was done in Hindi, such a big scam could probably not have taken place, said Chauhan.

Headless Body
The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation CDSCO is faced with uncertainty ever since the Madras High Court stayed the nine-month extension granted to the Drugs Controller General of India,Surinder Singh. While Singh has stopped coming to office, the Health Ministry is loathe to make a fresh appointment, having decided to challenge the order in the Supreme Court. The CDSCO remains headless in the meanwhile.
Room for Doubt
Soon after he was named a Congress general secretary,Vilas Muttemwar let it be known to everybody close to him that he would go back to his hometown Nagpur only after he was given a specific assignment and a room at the AICC headquarters. After a fortnight,Muttemwar finally has been allotted a room but his precise brief still remains elusive. Since it implies that he continues to stay away from Nagpur,Muttemwar is not sure what to make of it. Still in the wilderness or out of it?
Premature Retirement
Air Chief Marshal P V Naik still has a week to go before retirement but the Integrated Defence Staff IDS Headquarters seems to have already written him off. On its website, the official think-tank of the IDS,the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies CENJOS,carries the name of Naiks successor,Air Marshal N A K Browne as the Air Chief and names him as a member of the advisory board. The same list mentions Pradeep Kumar, who took over as the CVC two weeks ago,as the Defence Secretary. No wonder that despite being set up in 2007,a hit counter on the site reveals that just over 1,200 people have visited it.
