BSP leader and former Kerala minister Neelalohithadasan Nadar, who had been acquitted of sexually harassing senior IAS officer Nalini Netto, landed in a fresh trouble after a document submitted in the court by him to prove his innocence turned out to be fake. The matter has been brought to the notice of the High Court, where a Government appeal against his acquittal is pending.
Last July, the Additional Sessions Court (Fast Track) here had acquitted Nadar. Earlier, the First Class Magistrate Court-III here had sentenced Nadar to three-month imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 50,000 after he was found guilty of assaulting the officer on December 21,1999.
According to the charges,Nadar, the then transport minister in the Left Government, tried to harass Netto, the then transport secretary. Nadar, then a representative of Janata Dal in the Cabinet, had to quit after the officer took up the matter with the then chief minister E K Nayanar. Later,Netto filed a police case.
