Nearly two months after a college girl was raped and killed in Kamduni leading to an uproar,West Bengal Food and Supplies Minister Jyotipriya Mullick met her family at the Trinamool Congress party office at Madhyamgram on Sunday.

Seven people,including two brothers of the girl,met me and we discussed how things could be improved at Kamduni. I told them what the government was doing for them as well as the villagers. I am trying to arrange a meeting between the family and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Mullick said.

He said some people were trying to play politics over the incident. We got to know who funded the villagers trip to Delhi, he added.
