Job done,Justice D V Sharma retires

A day after delivering the Ayodhya verdict,Justice Dharam Veer Sharma,one of the three judges on the Allahabad High Court bench,retired on Friday.

A day after delivering the Ayodhya verdict,Justice Dharam Veer Sharma,one of the three judges on the Allahabad High Court bench,retired on Friday. The verdict was Justice Sharmas last order in his career as a judge.

A day after his retirement,on Saturday,Sharma will celebrate his 62nd birthday. I have not decided my future plans. On October 2,I will think over this, he told a news channel in an interview.

On his last day as judge,Justice Sharma spent the morning at his house in Gautam Palli,Lucknow. Around 3 pm,he came out. He is going to meet the Chief Justice, the security guard at his residence said. Sharma left for the court,but not before assuring the reporters who had gathered at his residence that he would talk to them in the evening.

At the court,his colleagues were waiting to receive him and give a hearty farewell. Judges gathered in a hall and gave farewell to Sharma. This is a tradition, said Bar Association president R S Pandey.
