JLR to launch cars in India by year-end

Tatas-owned Jaguar Land Rover said it will launch its products in India by the end of this year.

Tatas-owned Jaguar Land Rover said it will launch its products in India by the end of this year,after over a year of its acquisition by the domestic auto major.

“Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed that it is to begin selling its range of premium performance saloon cars and sports utility vehicles in the Indian market later this year and has reached agreement with Tata Motors Ltd to be the exclusive importer,” Tata Motors said in a statement.

After making its official entry into the country by the year-end,the two British marquee would sell a range of vehicles here,including Jaguar’s XF and XKR,and Land Rover’s Discovery and Range Rover,it added.

“This is a natural move for both businesses and will allow Jaguar and Land Rover to establish a strong and deserved presence in India. We are very pleased to develop our relationship with Jaguar Land Rover in this way and to provide the opportunity to Indian customers to access their premium products for the first time,” Tata Motors Managing Director Ravi Kant said.
