JLR to develop new facility in UK

The investment would be a part of the 1.5 billion Rs 11,250 crore investment that the company will make every year over the next five years,said a Tata Motors spokesperson.

In a bid to accelerate its growth,Jaguar Land Rover JLR,announced on Monday that the company would will invest 355 mn Rs 2,600 crore for building a new facility in UK to manufacture advanced technology low emission engines.

The investment would be a part of the 1.5 billion Rs 11,250 crore investment that the company will make every year over the next five years,said a Tata Motors spokesperson.

While the company did not divulge the details on the completion period of the plant,JLR,a subsidiary of Tata Motors came up with the announcement after discussions between JLR and the UK government.

The announcement followed a visit by Nick Clegg,MP and deputy Prime Minister of UK and Vince Cable,secretary of state for business innovation and skills at the companys Solihull vehicle production plant.

This is a major commitment for our company and we will produce these advanced,highly-efficient engines for future Jaguar and Land Rover models at a new facility in the UK, said Ralf Speth,chief executive officer,JLR.
