Godrej Interio to set up 2 units in Uttarkhand at Rs 80 crores,

Godrej Interio,premium furniture brand in both home and institutional segments,would up two manufacturing units with an investment of Rs 60-70 crores and Rs 15-20 crores in Uttarkhand for its growing upholstery business and to tap mattresses market.

Senior General Manager(Marketing),Godrej Interio,Bedraj Tripathy and Regional Manaer (North),Vipin Tyagi told here today that we will set up a new upholstery manufacturing facility at Bhagwanpur in Uttarakhand,with an investment of Rs 60-70 crore to meet the rising demand . The second facility would be set up near Haridwar at a cost of Rs 15 to Rs 20 crores. This facility would be used exclusively for the manufacture of mattresses.

Vipin Tyagi said that land for the two projects had been acquired and required machinery was being imported soon. He said that the two plants would go on stream by the end of financial year 2014-15. When asked Bedraj Tripathy said that revenue generation from upholstery business was about Rs 1,500 crore last financial year. He said that revenues from upholstery business to increase 55-60 per cent over the next two years and this will be the new growth trajectory. He said the market size of both the organized and unorganized sectors in this segment was estimated at Rs 50,000 crore per annum. The organized sector was pegged at Rs 7,500 crore and growing at 10-15 per cent annually. As against this Godrej Interio was expecting to grow at the rate of 20 per cent this year.

When asked about Punjab region,Anil Munjal of Godrej Interio informed that the company would open new exclusive stories at Phagwara,Sangrur,Barnala and Hoshiarpur,while the store at Jammu was upgraded to a mega store during this year. Currently,Godrej Interio has 78 exclusive outlets across the country in 20 cities,operating through 800 dealers.

The company,in the meanwhile today announced season II of their largest ever consumer campaign Upload & Transform. Touted to be one of the biggest campaigns from the house of Godrej Interio,it gives consumers a chance to get their house transformed for free. All that the consumers have to do is to click a photo of a part of their home they wish to transform,upload it on the Godrej Interio Facebook page or website with an interesting reason on why the brand should transform that space. The winners hold a chance to transform that space of their home completely free. Idea is to constantly engage consumers by connecting with them directly.

With the launch of this campaign For record,last years Upload & Transform saw five winners across the country including a winner each from Chandigarh and Shimla whose homes were aesthetically transformed by Godrej Interio.
