Taking a tough view of rising incidents of eve-teasing in the district,the Kanpur Police has decided to invoke the stringent National Security Act against those nabbed in cases involving violence.

There have been an average of three eve teasing cases per day in the district.

Proceedings for invoking NSA against three youths who were arrested on Wednesday night from Harbansh Mohal area of the district for allegedly eve-teasing two girls have been initiated.

Rishi,Sachin and Amit were arrested on the complaints of the girls,who have alleged that the trio along with one more boy had misbehaved with them when they were on their way home. The victims also accused the trio of beating up their brothers who tried to stop them. The accused were allegedly drunk at the time of the incident.

The trio will be sent to jail on Friday where action under the NSA would be initiated against them,DIG Hariram Sharma said.
