The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) on Thursday slammed AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi for his remark that Indira Gandhi was killed by communal forces. The DSGMC said Rahuls remark had angered Sikhs and that he should immediately seek forgiveness. DSGMC president Manjit Singh said,If Rahul says his grandmother and father were killed by communal forces,than who killed more than 5,000 innocent Sikhs all over the country in the carnage of November 1984. He said instead of blaming communal forces in public rallies,Rahul should make efforts to ensure Congress leaders guilty of the 84 carnage were brought to book.
Stop identifying food scheme beneficiaries: poll panel to govt
The Election Commission has asked the Delhi government to stop the process of identifying beneficiaries under the Food Security Scheme till December 5 when the poll process in the national capital will be over. The directive came in response to a request from the Delhi government to continue with the identification of beneficiaries as the scheme has already been launched in the capital. The poll panel said identifying beneficiaries during the poll process would be a violation of the model code of conduct.
Campaign on social media: Poll panel awaits guidelines
At a press conference in Delhi,Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Dev said they were waiting for guidelines from the Election Commission of India with regard to campaigning by political parties on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
