With the UPA government endorsing the proposal for creation of a separate Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh, different organisations belonging to the Bodo community in Assam renewed their demand for a separate Bodoland Tuesday with a series of agitational programmes from August 2.

Leading the demand is the All-Bodo Students Union ABSU,which had in the late 1980s raised the Divide Assam Fifty-Fifty slogan, with its emergent executive committee meeting at Kokrajhar saying No Bodoland state,No rest.

Hagrama Mohilary, president of the Bodo Peoples Front BPF,also announced that his MPs will raise the same demand in Parliament.
