Deepak Parekh joins Lafarge’s Advisory Board

We are delighted that Deepak Parekh has agreed to join the International Advisory Board: Miranda.

French cement major Lafarge on Wednesday said Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Chairman Deepak Parekh has joined its International Advisory Board.

“We are absolutely delighted that Deepak Parekh has agreed to join the International Advisory Board of Lafarge Group,” Isidoro Miranda,Executive Vice-President,Co-President of the Cement Business said in a statement issued here. “Our India business unit have already benefited greatly from his guidance and he will continue to provide us with invaluable advice in this new position on a global basis,” he added.

Parekh,who recently stepped down as the non-executive chairman of Lafarge India,was replaced by Uday Khanna who is on Wednesday retiring from his position as MD and CEO,Lafarge India. Incumbent Chief Operating Officer ¿ East Zone,Danilo Buscaglia and present Chief Projects Officer Ujjwal Batria will become joint Managing Directors for Lafarge India to look after its cement business in India.
