CWG officials queries about missing tickets went unanswered

A series of e-mail communications between the officer,Sudhir Mital,OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi and Director,Ticketing,Monika Jolly,copies of which are with The Indian Express,reveal how the entire plan of selling and issuing tickets was kept under wraps by the OC.

A senior IAS officer working as Special Director General with the CWG Organising Committee,who asked for details of the sale and distribution of tickets alleging large-scale favouritism and lack of transparency,was told by the OC to take it easy till the Games were over.

People are running everywhere for tickets,but are being told they are already distributed,but details of distribution are not known. There is no transparency at all8230;. We appear to be losing heavily on revenue, Mital wrote to Jolly on October 9,2010,while the Games were on. 8230; I had asked you to give me the entire plan for printing of tickets venue-wise,date-wise and session-wise8230;. Can I have the detailed plan as asked for immediately?

To this,Jolly replied: It is post my discussion with chairman,it was discussed that a detailed plan will be submitted to you post the Games due to excessive workload on not only me even the other members of the team. Mital wrote to Kalmadi the next day,but did not get a reply.

The OC is accused of having got tickets printed worth Rs 100 crore,out of which the sale of only Rs 40 crore was accounted for.
