CVC clears CMD of Western Coalfields

The CPIL,in September,had filed the plea seeking Dinesh Chandra Garg’s removal.

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC),in reply to a PIL in the Delhi High Court,on Tuesday cleared Western Coalfields CMD Dinesh Chandra Garg of allegations raised by the Centre for Public Interest Litigation.

The CPIL,in September,had filed the plea seeking Garg’s removal on the grounds that his tenure had been “illegally” extended six times without requisite vigilance clearance.

In his submission before the court of Justice S Ravindra Bhat and Justice Najmi Waziri on Tuesday,the counsel for the CVC,giving Garg a clean chit,said no vigilance case was found against him.
