Congress support to Nitish Kumar a warning signal for RJD

Nitish Kumar says that "it's an age of coalition",there's discomforting signal for the RJD.

With all the four Congress MLAs supporting the Nitish Kumar government, the RJD seems worried about its future ties with the UPA.

Though the JD(U) could have managed a simple majority with the help of four Independents, the Congress’s support ensured it a comfortable victory during the trust vote. It,is however, not clear if the Congress will join the government or lend it outside support. With Nitish saying that “it’s an age of coalition”,there’s discomforting signal for the RJD.

However,Bihar Congress chief spokesperson Premchand Mishra said,“We supported the JD(U) on moral and secular grounds. No electoral meaning should be read into it. We are not joining the government. Elections are sometime away. We are not entering into any alliance and may contest all 40 Bihar seats.”

The RJD,which opposed the JD(U),found itself on the same side as the BJP on Wednesday. While declining to speak on the Congress’s stand,RJD leader Abdul Bari Siddiquei said,“The BJP may have become the main opposition party now,but we are the real opposition. We are fighting two BJPs — one of Narendra Modi and another (JD-U) of L K Advani.” He said it was not a question of “joining the secular forces, but defeating a pseudo secular JD(U)”. “After being with the NDA for 17 years, how can Nitish talk of secularism? Can he explain the difference between Modi and Advani?,” he asked.
