Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Monday finally reacted to the recent advertisement put out by the Congress in local dailies that apparently lauded him, saying the opposition party in the state had finally accepted the truth.
Satya chapre chadi bole che. Ane chupavi sakatu nathi. Truth speaks loud and clear. It cannot be suppressed. Finally, they Congress had to accept the truth about the Gujarat governments development initiatives, he said at his Sadbhavana Mission function at Jetpur at Rajkot district.
Modi also said the Gujarat development model was being promised even by the Congress to woo voters in poll-bound states. Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh has promised Gujarat-like progress if his party comes to power, Modi said at Jetpur,a cotton textile hub.
At the end of his day-long fast, the CM announced a Rs 2,250-crore development package for Rajkot district. This is in addition to the Rs 1,100-crore package he had announced for Rajkot city in December last.
Modi said the fund would be utilised to build and improve underground drainage in Nagarpalikas and housing schemes in bigger gram panchayat areas.
