One month after the formation of his government,Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has written to all his ministers asking them to take steps to build image of the new government and discourage those who are trying to malign its image. In his letter,the Chief Minister wrote that it is the collective responsibility of everyone in the party to ensure discipline among workers.
He also emphasised that the change of power in the state should be felt by the public,and this can be be done by changing the atmosphere created by the previous government.
The CM has also told the ministers that some anti-social elements are trying to malign the image of the government but they should not be allowed to succeed.
In the past one month,there have been several incidents where SP workers and leaders have created embarrassment for the government. There were reports of violence by SP men,firings in the air,a party MLA riding on a horseback at a railway station and another parking his vehicle in a no-parking area in Lucknows Hazratganj in a manner that blocked traffic.
In his letter,Akhilesh Yadav has told the ministers about expectations of the public with which they had brought the Samajwadi Party into power with an absolute majority.
Azam: Bungling in flat-for-poor scheme
Rampur: Urban Development Minister Azam Khan on Sunday alleged grave bunglings in allotment of Kashiram Awas and that undesirable persons had occupied flats meant for the poor. Undesirable and undeserving occupants of Kashiram Awas have given those flats on rent to other inhabitants, he said.
Khan said his ministry would delve deep into the bungling and those found to have flouted norms would have to vacate their flats. In Rampur,which he represents in the Assembly,Khan said that 92 undesirable occupants have been detected so far and proceedings to get the flats vacated have started.
