The Budget session of Parliament will commence from March 12,Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal announced today.
Speaking to the media after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs,headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee,Bansal said: We will be recommending to the President that session may be summoned on March 12 and continue up to March 30, he said.
The address by President Pratibha Patil to both Houses,according to him,would be on March 12,the Railway Budget on March 14 and the Union Budget on March 16. The Economic Survey,giving an outline of the governments view of the economy,will be tabled on March 15.
The Budget session normally begins in the third week of February. However,the new schedule has been necessitated due to assembly elections in five states,which would conclude with the declaration of results on March 6.
