BSY makes protege Karandlaje working president of KJP

He also appointed former minister C M Udasi as KJP's senior vice-president.

Karnataka Janata Paksha chief B S Yeddyurappa Friday installed his close associate and former minister Shobha Karandlaje as the partys working president. He also appointed former minister C M Udasi as KJPs senior vice-president.

Karandlaje was the rural development and energy minister in the previous BJP government.

Yeddyurappa,a former CM,quit the BJP last December and floated his party. In the May elections, the KJP won just six seats in the 224-member assembly. But the party secured nearly 10 per cent of the vote, denting the BJPs prospects.

Although there has been intense speculation over Yeddyurappas return to the BJP fold since then,he ruled out any merger on Friday. Nor am I joining any other political party, he said.
