Officials: Attacks in Iraq kill at least 33
Baghdad: Attacks Monday across Iraq,including night car bomb blasts near markets in and around Baghdad,killed at least 33 people and wounded dozens,officials said. The deadliest attack came at night when two car bombs exploded within minutes on a commercial street in the mixed neighborhood of Jihad in western Baghdad,killing eight and wounding 21,police said. Nine Indians rescued from sinking Cypriot ship
Dubai: Nine Indian crew members of a Cypriot cargo ship that sank 1.4 nautical miles from Sultan Qaboos Port in Oman have been rescued. The Nisar R3,loaded with 816 tonnes of bitumen,sank on Wednesday in which the ships Iranian captain died while nine Indian crew members were rescued by the Omani Coast Guard and naval vessels. The rescue vessels also recovered some of the bitumen,which had spread to shore,Times of Oman report said Sunday. PTI

Mans head chopped off by passing truck in China
Beijing: A 29-year-old drunken man had his head clipped off by a passing truck when he stuck his head out of a car window to vomit in central Henan province of China. Neither the driver nor other people in the car noticed the horror until a 6-year-old sitting next to the victim suddenly found his head disappeared,the Shanghai Daily reported. PTI
2 indicted in Bangladesh over 1971 war crimes
Dhaka: Chowdhury Mueen-Uddin and Ashrafuzzaman Khan,two leaders of the notorious militia Al Badr were indicted in absentia by a Bangladeshi war crimes tribunal Monday for the alleged massacre of 19 Bengali intellectuals during the country8217;s liberation war in 1971. pti
