French police search LOreal heiresss home in scandal
PARIS: Police searched the home of Frances richest woman and a close friend of President Nicolas Sarkozy on Monday LOreal heiress Liliane Bettencourt shortly before he was to be interviewed on television about a scandal involving alleged illegal political donations. The minister at the centre of a furore,Eric Woerth,said he was considering resigning as treasurer of Sarkozys UMP party. In his interview,Sarkozy will try to refocus attention on pension reform and budget savings.
Sudans Bashir charged with genocide
the hague: The International Criminal Court on Monday charged Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir with three counts of genocide in Darfur,a move that will pile further diplomatic pressure on his isolated regime. An arrest warrant for Bashir said there were reasonable grounds to believe that since April 2003 Sudanese forces attempted genocide against the Darfur tribal groups Fur,Masalit and Zaghawa.
Awlaki places cartoonist on hit list
New York: Yemeni anti-US firebrand cleric Anwar al-Awlaki,has placed Seattle-based cartoonist Molly Norris,who declared May 20 as Everybody draw Mohammed Day on an execution hit list. Norris published a blasphemous cartoon on her website in April in protest to Comedy Centrals decision to censor an episode of a popular show,South Park that depicted Islams Prophet objectionably.

London: An 18-year-old boy,Richard,is planning to undergo sex-change in order to look like glamour model Katie Price. The boy,who lives in Leeds with his mother,has already changed his name to Cindy and plans to become a model like Price once he becomes a woman,reported Mirror online. To me she is the perfect woman. Not only does she have an amazing face and figure,she is strong and focused. My wall is covered in her photos and I probably have over a thousand cuttings about her, said Richards. Richard has been dressing as a girl since he was 12. At primary school all his friends were girls. I was often teased by other boys and would come home in tears. But it didnt stop me wanting to be a girl. I hated my uniform and took any chance to try on my mums shoes or nanas fur coats, he said.
