KABUL: Angry villagers stoned to death a local Taliban commander and his bodyguard in southern Afghanistan Sunday after the militants killed a 60-year-old man accused of aiding the government,Afghan officials said. The stoning happened in the Nawa District of Helmand Province.

Killed 100 Kurdish rebels in Iraq,says Turkey

ANKARA: Turkey’s military said Tuesday its airstrikes on Kurdish rebel targets in northern Iraq this week have killed an estimated 90 to 100 guerrillas. The military also said over 80 rebels were injured in six days of cross-border raids that began Wednesday.
