KABUL: A senior leader of an al-Qaeda-linked terror group has been captured in northern Afghanistan dressed up like a woman,the US-led military coalition said Tuesday. A joint Afghan and coalition force apprehended a leader of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan and two of his associates during a nighttime operation Monday in Kunduz city,NATO said.

Brain dead Saudi woman gives birth

DUBAI: In a rare case,a 38-year-old woman,who has been brain dead for the past four months,has reportedly given birth to a baby boy in Saudi Arabia. The baby boy was delivered 28 weeks and two days after conception and is in good condition at Saad Specialist Hospital at Al Khobar in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia,the Gulf News reported.

Brazil judge nod to first gay marriage

SAO PAULO: A Brazilian state judge Monday approved what the court said is the nations first gay marriage. Sao Paulo state Judge Fernando Henrique Pinto ruled two men could convert their civil union into a full marriage. Brazils Supreme Court cleared the way in May for the recognition of same-sex civil unions,but stopped short of approving gay marriages.
