SRINAGAR: Junior doctors in Jamp;K on Wednesday resumed work after reaching an agreement with the government. The doctors who went on an indefinite strike demanding a pay revision,reported to their duties as per the agreement reached with the state on Tuesday,according to which all issues will be resolved by November 16.

EC serves notice to Vayalar over sops

NEW DELHI: The EC has served a notice to Minister for Overseas Affairs Vayalar Ravi for allegedly announcing a grant of Rs 5 lakh for sports facilities at Nirmalagiri College in Kannur where an Assembly bye-poll is scheduled for November 7. The notice was issued to Ravi on Tuesday for allegedly violating the Model Code and has been asked to respond within 48 hours.

Cash-for-query: 7 ex-MPs get bail

New Delhi: A court here on Wednesday granted bail to seven ex-MPs chargesheeted in 2005 Cash-for-Query scam. The court asked the MPs to give undertakings that they would cooperate in the probe and granted them bail on personal bond of Rs 25,000 each.The MPs include Chattrapal Singh Lodh,Anna Saheb M K Patil,Y G Mahajan,Naresh Kumar Kushwaha,Lal Chand Kol,Ram Sewak Singh and Chander Pratap Singh.

Soni opens 3-day DFP workshop

New Delhi: Iamp;B Minister Ambika Soni opened a three-day workshop on the completion of 50 years of Directorate of Field Publicity DFP on Wednesday. She launched a website,an online feedback,which will help both the government and the regional offices of the DFP in monitoring programme implementation.
