Body of missing engineer found after 18 days

Based on a complaint lodged by Ravinders father Deshraj,the Karnal police registered a murder case against six persons. The father and brother of the girl have already been arrested in the case. Another accused,Hanif,has also been arrested.

The body was taken to Rohtaks Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) for post-mortem.

Ravinder,an engineering graduate from a Sonepat college,was to join a Gurgaon-based multinational company on December 15. Deshraj said,On the night of December 13,Ravinder got a call on his mobile just as he was about to sleep. He went out saying that he would be back in a while. He never returned. We waited till the next morning and then informed the

police.

SHO Vijay of Madhuban police station in Karnal said: Ravinder was having an affair with the girl,who was also his neighbour. While the girls father and uncle were arrested earlier,her brother was arrested today.

When contacted,Karnal SP Shashank Anand said: Because it is winter,the body took so many days to be found. Three accused have been arrested. Ravinders murder had led to a communal clash in the village. As news of the murder spread on December 14,Ravinders relatives and friends went on a rampage.

Cop arrested for molesting woman

PUNE: An assistant sub-inspector attached to Sahkarnagar police station has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 43-year-old woman. The alleged incident took place at a function organised by a housing society in Parvati. The suspect has been identified as Ganpat Kense,a resident of Dattawadi. The victim,also a resident of Dattawadi,lodged a complaint with Dattawadi police on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday,Kense was produced before the court of judicial magistrate (First Class) who remanded him in judicial custody. He was later granted bail. ENS
