BJP will launch a week-long agitation from September 18 to pressurise the UPA government to comply with the Supreme Court order for free distribution of foodgrain stored in godowns among the poor.
“The BJP has decided to organise a country-wide stir from September 18 to 24 to put pressure on the Centre to ensure free distribution of foodgrain to the poor people in compliance with the Supreme court order,” BJP General Secretary Anath Kumar said.
The people have been feeling the pinch of overall price rise,but the Prime Minister and the Agriculture Minister had been opposing the apex court’s recent order for free distribution of foodgrain,he said.
