Indian bank loans rose about 15.79 per cent on year as of Feb. 26,according to the provisional data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday.
Bank loans rose by 1.23 per cent from a fortnight ago.
Bank credit had risen 15.1 per cent on year as of Feb. 12.
The final figures for the week to Feb. 26 would be released by the central bank in its weekly statistical supplement on Friday.
Deposits were up 16.83 per cent from a year earlier while they grew 1.48 per cent over the fortnight,the data showed.
The central bank had cut its credit growth projection for 2009/10 to 16 per cent from 18 per cent at its Jan-end policy review.
