The Union Ministry for Information and Broadcast has rather assisted TV channels Colors and Imagine by giving undue publicity to their highly-objectionable and vulgar programmes Bigg Boss and Rakhi Ka Insaaf when instead of imposing a complete ban,these channels were instructed to telecast these programmes after 11 pm. Is it an indication that India is soon to follow certain countries to also allow telecast of X-rated films at night? Or was it to assist such ever-erring channels to recover the costs of production of these programmes by allowing telecast,maybe after getting some convenience fees from the respective channels? The present teenage generation will rather become more curious about programmes in late hours,thus further harming the cause.
Nothing will improve until money invested in such objectionable programmes by TV channels is completely wasted by imposing a complete ban rather than a publicised restricted viewing as is done presently.
