Balwa brother,co-accused in CBI custody till April 2

Taking note of the Central Bureau of Investigation’s contention that a key document related to the 2G spectrum allocation scam has not been made available by the accused.

Taking note of the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) contention that a key document related to the 2G spectrum allocation scam has not been made available by the accused,a special CBI court on Wednesday sent Asif Balwa and Rajesh Aggarwal,arrested on Tuesday,in the agency’s custody till April 2.

The CBI claimed the accused were instrumental in transferring Rs 200 crore to Kalaignar TV Pvt Ltd through accounts of Cineyug Films Pvt Ltd for benefits in the allotment of spectrum.

“An agreement dated December 19,2008 that was purportedly executed between Cineyug films Pvt Ltd and Kalaignar TV Pvt Ltd has not yet been made available by the two accused,” the agency said.

While DMK leaders hold stakes in Kalaignar TV,Shahid Balwa’s cousin Asif and Agarwal were directors of Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd. Asif was director of DB Realty Pvt Ltd.
