Ambuja Cements8217; Dec sales up 5.6 pct

Ambuja Cements reported a 5.61 pct rise in sales in December 2010 to 18.26 lakh tonnes.

Ambuja Cements reported a 5.61 per cent rise in sales in December 2010 to 18.26 lakh tonnes over the same period a year ago.

During the same month in 2009 the company8217;s sales stood at 17.29 lakh tonnes.

Production of the company also grew to 17.89 lakh tonnes in December 2010 compared to 17.37 lakh tonnes in the same month previous year,Ambuja Cements said in a communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

During the January-December period of 2010,Ambuja Cements8217; total sales stood at 201.23 lakh tonnes vis-a-vis 188.33 lakh tonnes in 2009.

Production in 2010 went up to 201.24 lakh tonnes from 188.37 lakh tonnes in 2009.
