Akshay enjoys B’day week celebrations

Akshay's close friends and family went all out to ensure that the actor's birthday week is one that he'll remember.

Akshay Kumar,who turned 43 recently,is one happy man. His last week was filled with parties and celebrations. His close friends and family went all out to ensure that the actor’s birthday week is one that he’ll remember. The celebrations were initiated with producer Vipul Shah deciding to gift him a surprise by releasing the first look of Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming film Action Replayy co-starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on the actor’s birthday. At the launch of the first look,team members surprised the actor by getting him a huge chocolate cake. The second surprise was planned by none other than his better half,Twinkle Khanna. Twinkle,who had a really long list of guests as she did not want to miss out anybody close to the actor,planned a special cake cutting along with a quite sit-down dinner with close friends. Later in the week,the actor held a pool-side birthday party for son Aarav at his bungalow. The coming week too holds another pleasant suprise for Akshay who is a huge John Travlota fan,for Travolta will be touring the country next week and it has been learnt that the Hollywood legend will be meeting Akshay Kumar too. Akshay will be also seen paying tribute to Travolta in Action Replayy itself.

Kareena Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor,who was back from Latvia shooting for Sriram Raghvan’s Agent Vinod early last week planned a bash at her Bandra residence for her best friend Malaika Arora Khan,to celebrate the success of Malaika’s ‘item’ number Munni badnaam hui from Dabangg. The actress,who turned a year older this week,flew back to Lativia to bring in her birthday with Saif Ali Khan,who had planned a four-day trip to Lativia to be by her side. The duo spent time with Kareena’s mother,Babita. Saif had also planned a dinner for his lady love at Johnny Depp’s restaurant,Mandala Ray,as Kareena is a huge fan of the Hollywood actor. Kareena’s sister Karisma could not join in the celebrations because of her baby. The actress,who will be back in Mumbai in the last week of September,will then head to Las Vegas to shoot for buddy Karan Johar’s film co-starring Imran Khan,Short Term Shaadi. Kareena has also signed Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine but the film’s shooting has been postponed. It has been learnt that the script will be ready in the next three months. Kareena has also replaced Katrina Kaif opposite Salman Khan in Atul Agnihotri’s remake of the Malayalam hit Bodyguard.

Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Dutt,who is presently shooting for Indra Kumar’s Double Dhamaal,has taken time out to be by wife Maanyata’s side. He was recently seen at his wife’s baby shower at a lounge of a Mumbai suburban hotel. Dressed in a baby pink shirt,he was by his wife’s side throughout the evening. Aishwarya,who was invited to the event,couldn’t attend because she was shooting in Italy. She conveyed her apologies and best wishes through a letter. Dutt will be seen in Mani Shankar’s upcoming film Knock-Out,in which he plays role of a sharpshooter — the film is reportedly based on the Hollywood film Phone Booth— and Dutt underwent training to learn how to use sophisticated weapons. The film will be releasing on October 15. After that,Dutt will be busy with Anees Bazmee’s comedy No Problem. The film will release in December 2010. The production of Rohit Dhawan’s Rascal,which will be produced by Dutt. will begin soon.The mahurat of Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Power,co-starring Dutt with Amitabh Bachchan. Anil Kapoor,Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi will held later in the week.

But all’s not well in Dutt’s life. A local court has issued summons to the star asking him to appear before it on December 10 in connection with alleged provocative remarks made by him during an election rally in Mau last year.
