A series of meetings of the 21-member Santi Samanvay Samiti (peace committee) were held during the last couple of days.

Representatives of both communities felt they should remain united and not speak anything against each other that would vitiate the cordial relations between them.

Suresh Kumar, who represented the Valmikis, said there was no difference between the two communities. “We will give it in writing before the commission tomorrow if it is required.”

Master Chander Prakash, who heads the peace committee, said that the 15 members representing Valmikis favoured cordial relations with the Jats.
