93 RDX case: 22 acquitted

A special TADA court has acquitted due to lack of evidence 22 persons facing trial for the landing of RDX in Porbandar .

A special TADA court has acquitted due to lack of evidence 22 persons facing trial for the landing of RDX in Porbandar which was allegedly used by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim in the 1993 Bombay serial bomb blasts that killed 270 people.

These 22 locals from Porbandar and Valsad districts were accused of providing logistic support to the D-gang by receiving and supplying explosives and weapons that were used in the serial blasts. Masterminds such as Dawood,Mustafa Majnu,Mammumiyan Panjumiya and Abu Salem are yet to be chargesheeted in the case. Special TADA judge

F R Goswami has acquitted 22 accused who were named in the first chargesheet filed. A total of four chargesheets were filed, said defence lawyer Salim Jokiya.

Five of 22 acquitted have died. Those acquitted include Satat Maula,Mohmmad Hanif,Suresh Worli,Laxman Hardas,Saiyeed Iqbal,Osman Korcha and their aides.
