With the arrest of three boys,all aged around 15 years,the police Saturday claimed to have cracked the case of gangrape of a minor girl three weeks ago in Kalimela area of Orissas Malkangiri district.
The three were arrested last evening for allegedly gangraping the class VII girl from MV-29 village on March 2,police officer Malkangiri K Siva Subraminiam said.
The 13-year-old girl had gone to a function where she met one of the accused who was known to her and was taken to a nearby school,Subraminiam said. The other two boys joined them there and the girl was allegedly raped.
The girl used to lose consciousness and suffered other problems after the rape and was taken to black magicians and quacks for treatment. Finally,when her mother questioned her,the girl narrated the incident after which a case registered on March 19,Subraminiam said.
