Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday rejected charges that the UPA government was soft on terror.

8220;We are not going soft on terror. There can be no compromise with terror,8221; Singh told reporters here after visiting the victims of Thursday8217;s serial blasts in Assam.

8220;Whosoever is responsible for these dastardly act8230; we will take effective measures,8221; he said.

Asked about involvement of other governments, Singh said, 8220;If other governments are involved we will take up this matter with them also8221;.

The Prime Minister said investigators would look at all the clues that they have and it would not be proper on his part to comment on the probe.

Main opposition BJP has accused Singh and the UPA government of being soft in dealing with terror.
