Promising an international gourmet experience to passengers using the Capital8217;s Indira Gandhi International Airport, two brand new outlets offering a wide variety of food and beverage options have been opened at the airport8217;s international terminal Terminal 2.
Caffegrave; Ritazza has opened in the visitor8217;s lounge outside the departure concourse. It is an international coffee brand with a focus on 8220;great coffee, fresh food and expert barista service, delivered consistently worldwide8221;. 8220;Taking account of the local culture and tastes, Caffegrave; Ritazza can be adapted to deliver a coffee shop experience that8217;s perfectly tailored to the local market,8221; a DIAL official said.
The visitor8217;s lounge also has a multi-cuisine restaurant, Food Village, which offers a wide range of Indian, Italian and Oriental cuisine. While there is an option for pizza lovers to dig into jumbo-sized pies and juicy pastas, others with a taste for noodles and dimsums can also indulge themselves here. Those with a taste for all things desi can choose between succulent kebabs and tikkas, or go for a wide range of vegetarian dishes. The restaurant also offers an array of sandwiches, submarines, salads and beverages.8220;Since these outlets are located in the visitor8217;s lounge, they can be accessed by friends and families seeing off or receiving their relatives as well,8221; the official said.
People visiting these outlets, however, say the food is overpriced and not up to the mark. DIAL officials said their policy is to offer food for 8220;all pallets and wallets8221;. But consumers have complained about the quality of the food not being at par with the money charged.
8220;I had come to see off my daughter-in-law and we decided to eat before she took her flight to Mumbai. The food is overpriced and not up to any standard. We spent Rs 800 for a tiny meal for two, which tasted bad,8221; Renu Sharma, a resident of Jungpura, said.Another visitor to the airport said the food was bland and extremely overpriced. 8220;I ordered a dish of corn and carrot in lemon sauce, which had absolutely no hint of lemon in it. And I fail to understand why the staff is so rude. They just cleared my table before I had even finished,8221; Dipanker Chatterjee said. A resident of Dwarka, he had come to pick up his brother.
