
JANUARY 5: Varun Shipping are well placed against last year’s runners up Union Bank. After taking a big first innings lead of 259, did well to claim opener Ajit Kolte (40) in their second innings on the penultimate day of the three-day Times Shield B Division semi-final at Karnatak ground, Cross Maidan here on Wednesday.
In the other semi-final Mumbai Port Trust were 339 for eight, in reply to Bombay Suburban Electric Supply’s total of 172 at Police Gymkhana.
