Gujarat Congress chief Shankersinh Vaghela today said a special commission of inquiry would be instituted to ‘‘expose’’ the ‘‘corrupt ministers of the ruling BJP and their family members’’ involved in ‘‘corruption’’ if his party came to power in the state.

The Congress would set up a Punjab type result-oriented commission after coming to power to investigate into the involvement of BJP ministers and their relatives because during the four and half years’ rule of the BJP, corruption has been on the rise, he told reporters here while attending a two-day workshop.

Alleging that the BJP government was spending money received through bonds for the salary of government servants, he claimed that the state exchequer has gone empty and the government has no money for implementation of any scheme. He exuded confidence that the people of Gujarat would favour his party.

Vaghela said that the main aim of the workshop for party workers, present and past office bearers of taluka and zilla panchayats, elected members and defeated candidates, was to prepare for the polls, check the voters list, in which he alleged that the BJP has played ‘‘mischief,’’ and make strong representation before the EC about the ‘‘misappropriation’’ in the list.
