Polytechnic results declared
The results of all Polytechnic examinations, M Sc applied geology, post- graduate diploma in laboratory technology, diploma in laboratory technology and diploma in cardiography were declared on Thursday. This was the first time that the results of the M S University were being declared before June.

Rajiv anniversary
The Vadodara Youth Congress Committee organised a blood donation camp on Thursday at its City-District office at Lakdi Pool, Dandiya Bazaar to commemorate the seventh death anniversary of late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Special provision
The State government has made a special provision for the development of the socially and educationally backward populace in 71 districts of the State. Under the new provisions, the government will provide portable water, roads, health centres, schools and electricity to the people. Each taluka will receive a state grant of Rs 5 lakh. The government has released a total Rs 3.55 crore for the development programme this year.

Petrol seized
The District Supply Office seized 6177 litre petrol worth about Rs 1.6 lakh from Paras Service Station, Makarpura, following an inspection on Wednesday night. According to an official release, the step was taken after finding some irregularities in the accounts and stock books of the petrol pump. The petrol sample has also been sent to the laboratory for its density and other tests, the release added.

Convention
The second half-yearly convention of the Amateur Astronomers Association will be held in the Sardar Patel Planetarium on Sunday. The convention is being organised with the support of the Planetarium. Dr K Soman and Nilesh Vayda of the Confederation of Indian Amateur Astronomers will be present on the occasion.

Annual meeting
Friends Society, a voluntary youth organisation in the city, has scheduled its annual general body meeting at its office premises at Petit Library, Fatehgunj on Sunday from 9 am.
