Revised train timings
The Ahmedabad-Delhi Rajdhani, which was earlier running once a week, will now be plying thrice a week. Accordingly, the 2957-down Rajdhani Express will leave Ahmedabad at 4.50 p.m. and reach New Delhi the next day at 7.50 a.m. While the 2958-Up will leave New Delhi at 2.40 p.m. and reach Ahmedabad the next day at 5.45 a.m. The train will leave from Ahmedabad on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and will leave from New Delhi on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The train will halt at Abu Road, Ajmer, Jaipur and Delhi Cantonment on both directions.

Train jumps rails
Eight coaches of the 2475 UP Rajkot-Jammu Tawi Sarvodaya Express went off track near Than railway station between Surendranagar and Wankaner around 8.15 a.m. on Wednesday. According to railways sources, the train was full and the cause of the derailment was yet to be ascertained. Though no casualty was reported, train services were thrown out of gear.

SSS investment
Panchmahals district has recorded 120 per cent success in Small Savings Scheme investment in the year 1997-98. According to an official release, as against the target of Rs 32 crore, the district recorded an investment of Rs 38.51 crore. Similarly, Dahod district achieved 90 per cent success by achieving net investment of Rs 11.44 crore against the target of Rs 12.50 crore.

Inauguration
The 1176th branch of the Bank of Maharashtra will be inaugurated at Harinagar, Gotri, on Thursday by the bank8217;s Chairman and Managing Director T S Raghavan during his visit to Gujarat. The branch will be computerised from its inception. Raghavan will also inaugurate the computerisation of the bank8217;s existing branch in Raopura. On Friday, he will meet the bank8217;s clients in Ahmedabad. Raghavan will also visit branches in Saurashtra, including the Rajkot branch which is celebrating its silver jubilee this year.

Grievances
Vadodara MP Jayaben Thakkar and BJP MLA from City Wadi Bhupendra Lakhawala will listen to public grievances at the party8217;s office at 101, Narayan Apartment beginning Thursday for two days between 4 p.m and 7 p.m.

Meeting held
A meeting of the line staff and Group-D members of the Bharatiya Telephone Employees Union, affiliated to the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, was held at the CTMX Crossbar Building on Monday under the presidentship of Vasantbhai V Yevle. The members unanimously elected J R Prasad as the Branch president, G R Argade as the vice-president, Vijaybhai Shinde as the Secretary, D N Chandatre as the Finance Secretary and D S Shinde as the Organising Secretary.
