
DDO8217;s order stayed
The Development Commissioner is reported to have stayed the Vadodara District Development Officer8217;s DDO order of suspending Harni village sarpanch Bhavana Patel. The DDO had recently suspended Patel for allegedly continuing the octroi recovery contract of a firm despite the expiry of the term.
Rain forecast
The city recorded 14 mm rainfall on Wednesday, according to the weather office here. Padra recorded 7 mm, Jetpurpavi 2 mm, Savli 12 mm, Sankheda 15 mm and Waghodia 1 mm rainfall, while the remaining seven talukas did not receive rainfall. Rainfall has been forecast in almost all the parts of the State during the next 48 hours.
Results of the music examination conducted by the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal in April 1998 have been declared and can be obtained from the Mandal8217;s Wadi centre. Forms for the November 1998 examinations will be available from Thursday and must be submitted on or before August 10.
Exhibition
K A Automation will organise a two-day live demonstration-cum-exhibition of automation and security products manufactured by the country8217;s topmost companies between 9 am to 6.30 pm on July 17 and 18 at VCCI hall, Makarpura GIDC. Both domestic and industrial security products will be on display.
Coaching camp
The Bank Workers Co-operative Credit and Consumers Society Limited will hold a free coaching camp on July 19 for applicants appearing in Banking Service Recruitment Board exams for the clerical categories. Society president D D Patel said the applicants would be imparted training to take exams in clerks, typists and stenographers categories at Gujarat Kalpana Classes, near Apna Bazar, Bank road, Mandvi. Those interested can join the camp at 1 pm.
Ayurvedic camp
Ethichem Ayurvedic Research Kendra has organised a free two-day Ayurvedic camp for infants below one year of age on July 23 and 24 at Tripmuti Pharma Distributors between 1.30 and 6.30 pm. Infants will be administered Mangalkarak Suveranapras8217; by reputed Vaidyas. Interested parents have been asked to enlist their children in advance.
Diagnostic camp
A diagnostic camp for ear, nose and throat will be conducted in the city on Sunday at New Haven Vidyalaya, Waghodia Road by ENT specialist R B Bhesania. Those interested can call Hasmukh Baxi on 463178 or Ratibhai Sheth on 468185 by Friday.
Results out
Surat: The results of the music and dance examinations conducted by the Bruhad Sangeet Kala Kendra, Ahmedabad and the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai, have been declared. A number of city students, who had appeared for examinations in different grades of classical music and dance, were awarded certificates. The Jeevanbharati Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad has released a list of students who have cleared the examinations.
