US says No justification for attack

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh spoke to Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and offered all support. Condemning the attack, Singh urged the people of Jaipur to be calm 8220;at this difficult moment8221; and assured all possible assistance to the state government to restore normalcy and 8220;to go to the root of this attack8221;.

Condemning the attack, President Pratibha Patil appealed for peace and calm.

Terming the blasts as 8220;despicable and dastardly acts8221;, Vice-President Hamid Ansari expressed his deepest sympathies to the families of those killed and injured.

Condoling the tragic loss of innocent lives in the serial blasts, Congress president Sonia Gandhi called the terror attacks a 8220;crime against humanity8221;.

BJP chief Rajnath Singh said the blasts were a 8220;dangerous8221; indication of Pakistan-based terror groups spreading their activities into the country8217;s hinterland and Hindi heartland.

Blaming the Congress-led UPA Government8217;s 8220;soft approach8221; towards terrorism, senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said such attacks were the result of the 8220;weak policies8221; of a government headed by a 8220;weak Prime Minister and a 8220;coward Home Minister8221;.

BJP leader Arun Jaitley said such terror acts 8220;must arouse a greater national desire of becoming a hard state and should increase the country8217;s resolve to fight terror8221;.

8220;The United States condemns the vicious acts of terrorism in Jaipur. We extend our deepest sympathies to those injured and to the victims8217; families. There can be no possible justification for murderous attacks on innocent people,8221; said US Ambassador to India David C Mulford.
