DHARAMSALA, April 19: Irked by the United Nation’s “indifference” towards their demands, the Tibetan Youth Congress has decided to observe a 48-hour long fax jam campaign directed at the UN secretary general from 5 pm tomorrow. The TYC has urged all the Tibetan organisations and other sympathisers of the Tibetan struggle to flood the UN secretary general’s office with fax messages continuously for two days during the fax jam campaign to show their concern on Tibet.
In a release issued here today, president of the TYC Tseten Norbu said that the young huger strikers and the organisation were disappointed with the UN response through which it had requested the youth body to stop the fast-unto-death without referring to the demands it had highlighted through the protest.
Meanwhile, the TYC’s fast-unto-death campaign going on in Delhi today entered 41st day.“Our activists did not go on this fast to be asked to stop. They wanted the UN to fulfill its responsibility to our nation and to implement therecommendations made to this end by the International Commission of Jurists”, he said.
He said that if the lives of TYC activists was the price for saving Tibet from indignity of slavery and colonialism, they were ready to pay it off.
