
Lookout notice issued against key suspect who is in London
The Samta Nagar police, after arresting six persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of Reliance union leader, Shantaram Kanade made two more arrests recently and also issued a lookout notice against the key suspect in the case.
According to Senior Police Inspector Shivajirao Shinde from the Samta Nagar police station, 8220;The six accused were arrested from various parts of the city a few days after the murder. All six used to work as bodyguards for the key suspect in the case, Vijay Salvi, a marble businessman staying in the same society. All the accused have criminal cases registered against them at different police stations. After duly interrogating them, we managed to arrest two more youths from Ramabai Nagar on November 14.8221; The two accused have been identified as Pradeep Sarvade and Preetam Naik, both in their mid twenties. Though Shinde said that these two were part of the gang that had barged into the Evershine Millennium Paradise society office and had assaulted Kanade with choppers, the two do not have any previous police records. 8220;We are yet to arrest others who were in that gang and our enquiries are on,8221; said Shinde. Most of the persons involved in the attack have been arrested but the key suspect is yet to be taken into police custody. 8220;Vijay Salvi alias Tambad, who instructed the bodyguards to kill Kanade over a dispute regarding the post of society secretary, is still in London. He had gone to London on a business trip a few days before the attack. We have no idea as of now about his date of return,8221; said Shinde.
However, the police have instructed airport authorities to alert them as soon as Salvi enters the country. 8220;As soon as Salvi returns we will arrest him from the airport,8221; added Shinde.
