
PANCHKULA, Jan 4: Two persons have been nabbed by the Panchkula police near the Mansa Devi temple on charges of bootlegging. Eight sacks containing a total of 2,000 pouches of country made liquor have been seized from the duo.
A statement issued by Superintendent of Police Alok Mittal said that the two accused, Dinesh Kumar, resident of Yamunanagar and Yogesh, resident of Jagadhari were coming from Chandigarh, when their Maruti car CHM 7141 was stopped by a naka near the temple. On questioning, the duo told the police that they used to purchase liquor from Sector 24 in Chandigarh at the rate of Rs 6 per pouch and sell the same in Yamunanagar at Rs 12 per pouch. Dinesh had also been arrested earlier by the Panchkula police and 12 bottles of liquor had then been recovered from him. Their car has also been impounded.
