CHANDIGARH, June 25: A 10-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man were electrocuted here today. With this, three persons have lost their lives due to electrocution in two days in the city. Yesterday, a 25-year-old labourer was electrocuted in Sector 15 here.
Police sources said that Pinky 10 was cleaning the refrigerator at her home in Attawa village when she suffered an electric shock. She was rushed to the PGI where she was declared brought dead.
In a separate incident, an 18-year-old man lost his life here today when he came in contact with a live electric wire. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh who is a resident of Sector 38.
Police sources said that Rajesh had gone for a bath in a pond in Sector 25 where construction was on. However, he came in contact with a live electric cable. Rajesh was taken to the PGI but he could not be saved. Police said that since it was accidental, no case has been registered.
