Two auto-lifters, car stereo thieves held

CHANDIGARH, Jan 6: The city police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in theft of motorcycles and car-stereos here and recovered four stolen car stereos from their possession.

According to police, on a tip off, the Sector 19 police headed by SHO A.S. Jaggi laid a trap in sector 21 around 10 pm last night and managed to catch the duo. The two — Sector 19 resident Sanjay Bhat and Sector 30 resident Sachin Kumar Rawal — have been arrested under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code. According to the preliminary interrogation of the two, the police recovered two more car stereos stolen from Sector 21 and 27 and a Yamaha motorcycle, DL-IS-G-8158, allegedly stolen from Sector 23 last month. The police hope to make more recoveries from them arrested.
