Two arrested for cheating

CHANDIGARH, May 19: On the complaint of Sanjeev Khirwar, SDM East, the city police have arrested Nirmal Singh and Jeet Singh of Manimajra on charges of cheating and criminal conspiracy and registered a case against the two. Nirmal Singh, owner of some agricultural land in the area, had reportedly split his piece of land into smaller plots and sold it to Jeet Singh without the written permission of the magistrate, as is mandatory, a police official said. A case under Sections 420 and 120 B has been registered.
